  • Redwood Realms: MTG is an inclusive, all-ages event for fans of Magic: The Gathering and tabletop gaming. The tournaments and scheduled events are gearded towards players with a strong grasp of gameplay and rules. The venue includes free play space for newer players to learn and engage with the community. Redwood Realms: MTG is for everyone.

  • The event takes place March 13th, 14th, and 15th at Redwood Acres Fairgrounds in Franceschi Hall. 3750 Harris Street, Eureka, CA 95503.

  • The venue will be open from 9am to 9PM each day.

  • Redwood Realms: MTG offers two different wristbands for entry.

    The Gaming Pass provides access to discounted gameplay in the form of three 5K competitive tournaments with $10 entry fees, $15 draft events, and $25 Sealed Deck events. In order to participate in these events with low price points you are required to have a Gaming Pass wristband. This pass is recommended for someone who wants to spend the weekend gaming with us.

    The Daily Entry wristband ($10) per day provides access to the venue, vendors to shop from, artists to meet and sign cards/shop from, and free play space. This pass is recommended for someone who wants to experience the convention and play casual Magic with friends new and old.

  • Wristbands will begin shipping in 1/2026. Any entry purchased after 2/28/2026 will only be available for Will Call pickup.

  • Yes. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paid adult guardian at all times, including during organized play events.

  • We are actively working to secure discounted hotels for our attendees! Please check back and/or sign up for announcements to be the first to hear about our partnered hotels.

  • To ensure compliance with federal and California state tax laws, please review the following important information:

    1. Prize Reporting Requirements

    • If you win prizes totaling $600 or more, we are required by law to collect your taxpayer information and issue a Form 1099-NEC for tax reporting.

    • Prizes under $600 will not be reported to tax authorities, but you are still responsible for reporting them on your own tax return.

    2. Taxpayer Information Collection

    • Before receiving your prize, you will need to complete a Form W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification).

    • This form ensures we have accurate information for tax reporting.

    • Please bring a valid photo ID to complete this form.

    3. Withholding for Non-California Residents

    • If you are a non-California resident and win a prize over $1,500, state law requires us to withhold 7% of the prize for California state taxes. This will be submitted to the California Franchise Tax Board on your behalf.

    4. Prize Distribution

    • Prizing will be issued via check at the event.

    5. Your Tax Responsibilities

    • You are responsible for reporting all winnings on your federal and state tax returns, regardless of whether taxes are withheld.

  • Please make your selections carefully. Once purchased, event entry is non-refundable. If there are extreme extenuating circumstances we may make an exception to this rule. Please contact gina@emeralddragonevents.com if you find yourself requesting a refund.

Rules and Policies

  • The safety and security of everyone at the event is our priority.

    Everyone attending Redwood Realms: MTG should be aware that the following are in place:

    • Security may approach you to assist outside, at entry, or inside the event.

    • Everyone must wear their wristband at all times. This includes artists, vendors, attendees, press and staff.

    • By participating in this event you agree that your likeness may be captured and subsequently posted on our website or social media posts.

    Everyone attending Redwood Realms: MTG is requested to:

    • Keep personal property with you at all times and don't leave any items unattended

    • Report anything that looks unusual, suspicious, or just out of place to staff.

    • Remain patient and courteous with staff and security undertaking security checks.

    • Follow the instructions of staff at all times.

    • Carry a recognized form of photo ID.

  • The Wizards Play Network Code of Conduct captures the spirit of Redwood Realms: MTG. By purchasing an event wristband you agree to follow the rules and guidelines outlined in this policy.

  • Wristbands for the event are non-refundable and cannot be reproduced or upgraded. The unauthorized resale or attempted resale of the wirstband is prohibited and will constitute a forfeiture of the wristband without compensation. Each wristband must be used by the same person (the “Attendee”) for each day of the Event and such use is at all times subject to the Terms of Service for Participation in the Event, which is made available on the Event website. The Event’s operating hours, schedules, guests and speakers are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Each Wristband is a revocable license to attend the Event. Emerald Dragon Events, LLC is not responsible for lost or stolen items. The Attendee acknowledges there are hazards and risks of physical injury or illness to Attendees of the Event and that not all such hazards or risks can be fully eliminated. By accepting this wristband and attending the Event, the Attendee freely and voluntarily agrees to assume the full risk of bodily injury or property damage, regardless of severity, or death that Attendee may sustain as a result of attending the Event, whether or not caused by the negligence or gross negligence of Emerald Dragon Events, LLC.
